I am happy to announce that the 2012 Spring Festival Gala at Yale will be held on Feb 4th(Saturday). Let’s welcome the 龙年 together!

It is the first time that we host the Spring Festival Celebration under the assistance of all the Chinese Students at Connecticut.  Led by Yale, this year’s Spring Festival Gala involves University of New Haven, University of Bridgeport, University of Connecticut, University of Southern Connecticut, Wesleyan College and Fairfield University as co-organizer.

The programs, provided by all the universities in Connecticut,  are much more diversified than ever before,  including 舞蹈，相声，小品，歌曲，古 琴， 武术，戏曲 and so on. So mark your calender for this big event of all Chinese people in Connecticut!

一、  保险计划简介

为符合美国政府对外国留学生和学者在医疗保险方面的要求，受中国驻美国大使馆教育处的委托，纽约中国留学服务中心自1995年起为中国学生学者设计开发了一项全面而优惠的医疗保险计划—华人联合计划（United Chinese Plan）。该计划由中国留学服务中心与美国联合健康保险公司（United Health Care）依据美国法律对外国学生学者的要求联合开发设计，至今已成功实施了15年。   美国联合健康保险公司（United Health Care）面向美国数百家高等院校和40多个团体提供健康保障，拥有强大的服务网络和多年的保险服务经验，在同行业中享有盛誉。

以下为2010－2011年度的保险计划。 请注意，根据广大留学人员的要求，我们对现有的保险计划进行了升级，新的保险计划（2011-2012年度计划）从2011年8月1日起生效， 所以目前只能购买1个月， 3个月和6个月的保险计划。近期内我们会公布2011-2012年度保险计划。

二、  保险计划的选择

按照地域性，保险计划分为全美计划，纽约州计划和马塞诸塞州计划这三个保险计划，保险内容大致相同，保费有少量差异。此贴推荐的保险为全美计划，适用于耶鲁大学及周边学校，如果居住地属于纽约州和麻省，请登录http://www.chinesehighway.com/article_showall.asp?cat_id=10&parent_id=14

其中，全美计划2010－2011年度计划分为两种，即：普通计划（REGULAR PLAN）和一等计划 （PREMIER PLAN）。两种计划保费与所获权益都有区别，请根据自己需要进行购买。

三、 适用群体

投保资格：来自中国并在美国高校或教育研究机构就读、从事研究或教学工作的学生、学者与家属，均有资格自愿加入本保险计划。下面针对几个群体加以详细说明：

1、         持J1 签证访问学者及家属：可以购买。但家属需访问学者本人购买本保险之后才可以购买家属计划。此保险范围包括怀孕。

2、         持F1签证的留学生及家属：此处需特殊声明，如购买此保险，需向学校递交waiver 表格，避免重复投保。Waiver表格只能在每学期开始前递交，在新学期开始前我们会详细说明waive过程。

3、         OPT期间J1、F1签证的留学生及家属：在此建议已毕业还未工作的学生学者，购买短期计划以保障个人的安全和利益。

四、投保重点

1、Maximum Lifetime Benefit终身最高受益：$300,000
2、每次就医，在网络内的医生、医院就医，需按情况支付$20co-pay,或者$45 deductible, 及一定比例的co-insurance; 在网络外的医生、医院就医deductible需付$300。在学校的Student Health Center就医可免付$20co-pay,或者$45 deductible。

3、普通计划保险理赔80％，当理赔额达到$2,5000之后，理赔100％。

4、一等计划保险理赔额在$2,500以下100％，当理赔额达到$2,500至$2,5000内90％，理赔额$2,5000以上100％。

5、处方药费每年可获$1,000理赔（仅限于一等计划）,但需支付相应的co-pay, 详细请阅保险手册。

6、Repatriation and Medical Evacuation疾病回国和遗体运回国福利：福利由 Scholastic Emergency Services, Inc. （全球性紧急医疗协助）提供。

五、使用方式

1、此保险是一个PPO计划，请选择网络内医生，医院，或者在学校的Student Health Center 进行就医，就诊自付部分费用较低。如果选择网络外的医生，就诊费用将高出许多；

2、进入保险公司网站www.uhcsr.com/nyservicecenter，在“Search for a Provider”项下寻找医生网络；

3、每次就医，需按情况支付$20 co-pay,或者$45 deductible,及一定比例的co-insurance(网络内医生/医院);

有两种方法可供选择。

进入保险公司网址www.uhcsr.com/nyservicecenter ，点击Enroll Online Now，依次正确填写所需信息即可。【注】此种购买方式不适用只购买一个月的短期计划。

2．打印并填写申请表格，连同支票一起寄去保险公司。

进入保险公司网址www.uhcsr.com/nyservicecenter ，根据自己的需要选择保险计划，查阅保险条例(Brochure)，打印保险申请表格（Enrollment form）。

ACSSY has been working hard to debut the BBS for Chinese students and scholars at Yale. This BBS will be dedicated as a platform that facilitates information exchange, promotes mutual help and betters our life.

The BBS consists of four sections:  Townsmen Association, Life, Sports and Arts and Study

Townsmen Association section can be used to strength fellow provincials’ tie. Life section will be used to exchange useful daily life information such as shopping and dinning events.

Sports and Arts section broadcasts life-enriching indoor and outdoor activities. Study section help people exchange notes on classes, research and more.
